Plein aire at Gilcrease Museum

View of downtown Tulsa from Gilcrease Museum grounds.  Plein air sketch from Thursday morning, following my 1 1/2 hour walk through the city park, fields, forests and lease roads north of the museum grounds.  Painting is 4 1/2 " x 5 1/2 inches. Oil on board.

The plein air painting workshop scheduled at the museum was unable to meet.  Since I live near the museum, I painted anyway.  I painted water lilies under the desultory presence of wood bees; trees; long views from the hill.  The ticks and chiggers ate me up.

After lunch on Friday, I returned to the top of the hill and sat in the shade, looking down the hill into the Gilcrease hills neighborhood.  The hills of Tulsa show in the background.  Thanks to Adam, who purchased this painting at the farmers market on may 16.  Reds and grays were added in the studio.
